Memories in Portraits

I want to make women look and feel amazing…stunning…iconic.

I’m in love with vogue style images!

I’m intrigued with posing the human body into art.

It started with my Little Model sessions  and the awesome energy they have. You can see my gallery of little models on my website. But recently working to make a modern mommy and me session…(motherhood-in-vogue), I realized that making everyday women look gorgeous is fun too.

The real kicker…my own self portraits. I didn’t realize that I hadn’t had a photograph of my self in several years. I, like most woman, am not screaming with excitement to get in front of the camera. I could lose tons of weight, I have huge boobs…which I hate, and so many other things. I love my eyes, which you can’t really see because I wear glasses, and I’ve always been thankful for fairly clear skin, and oddly enough I have no hair on my legs… yup totally weird but I’m thankful I don’t have to shave them! But that’s about it.

So when I took my family portraits, it took me awhile to figure out how to hide myself and my flaws. But when it was all said and done, my oldest graduates next year and I don’t know how many photos I have with her. Even on the iPhone. I don’t know how many photos I really have of myself over the past 16 years. And that is sad. So these photos and the ones I will try to take more over this next year, will be priceless to me.

So, I am encouraging moms of all sizes (but size really doesn’t matter, because we all look in the mirror and see flaws) to be photographed. I want you to look at your photos and say you look beautiful…iconic even. I want you to feel like you were on the cover of Vogue. I want your children to see you empowered. See some of my inspirational images on my Pinterest page.

But I just want your children to have…a photo of you. Once a year, we need to take professional photos of ourselves and especially with our kids. Because we may not change, but they do. And when they are off to college…

…tell me what will you have to look at and what they will take with them as they grow older. Just think about it! 16 years goes by way too fast!
